The Kennedy Group Announces Strategic Cooperation Agreement With RFID4U

The Kennedy Group's Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) group, a turnkey leader in EPC-compliant solutions featuring one of the industry's most extensive testing facilities, announced an agreement with RFID4U to develop joint training and certifications classes. According to the terms of the agreement, classes will be held in The Kennedy Group's RFID Customer Solution Center in Willoughby, Ohio. The Kennedy Group will also offer its line of RFID Starter Kits to clients. RFID4U will provide all course materials and instructors used in the Willoughby testing facility.

At least one training class will be held every three months. Classes in The Kennedy Group's RFID Customer Solution Center are currently scheduled for January 24-27, 2006 and March 21-24, 2006. Course offerings will be based on existing RFID4U training courses. These courses are created as part of an overall certification initiative call RFID+ developed by the Computing Technology Industry Association, or CompTIA. As a cornerstone committee member of CompTIA, RFID4U assists in determining the content of the RFID certification so individuals are proficient in RFID system installation, maintenance or management.

Through the use of a fully equipped, technology neutral testing facility, The Kennedy Group and RFID4U make it easy for businesses to learn more about RFID technology and the ways in which it can improve their inventory control and customer service. The 7,000 square-foot Customer Solution Center is designed to test RFID smart labels and tags, smart cards, readers, printers and applicators, all under actual working conditions. This, in turn, helps customers determine the exact specifics and actual frequencies along with the type of readers necessary to read a customer's tag.

"Choosing among all the available smart labels, tags, hardware, software and applicators is a challenge," said Patrick Kennedy, The Kennedy Group Vice President/Marketing & Sales. "The valuable information from the training courses and hands-on experience from the testing facility offer clients superior advantages in making the right decisions when implementing RFID technology into their operations."

In addition, clients taking part in the training will have the opportunity to purchase an RFID Starter Kit. The Kennedy Group continues to offer the largest selection of RFID starter kits in the industry. All of the Starter Kits are designed to assist first-time users in complying with RFID mandates according to their specific needs, budget and timetable. The kits include bundled hardware, software and Smart Therm™ labels.

"Combining the synergies of both companies enables the development of quality programming for clients," said Sanjiv Dua, CEO, and RFID4U. This relationship will allow us to offer more value to people looking at implementing the technology."

The Kennedy Group and RFID4U will market the training and certification classes through their respective marketing channels. Furthermore, both companies will promote each other with reciprocal links on websites and in other marketing communications.
