TexTrace Joins Global RAIN RFID Alliance To Advance RFID In Retail

TexTrace collaborates with industry counterparts to build a future where everyday things are part of a connected world

Recently TexTrace, a pioneer in advanced technology for the apparel industry, announced that the company has joined the RAIN RFID Alliance. The global RAIN RFID Alliance fosters the advancement of technologies that enable businesses and consumers to identify, locate and authenticate items in our everyday world.

As part of this RFID industry alliance, TexTrace will work together with colleagues, suppliers and customers to help promote RAIN RFID technology for brand protection and inventory management applications in the retail industry. TexTrace discreetly incorporates RFID technology into a woven RFID brand label for accurate inventory tracking, seamless security and authentication.

"Authentication starts with the origin and history of each tagged item, such as individual items of apparel carrying the TexTrace woven RFID brand label," said Sybille Korrodi, head of marketing for TexTrace. "TexTrace has used RAIN RFID technology in the retail industry, and we look forward to contributing our unique expertise to the RAIN Alliance."

"RAIN RFID delivers Internet connectivity to billions of everyday items, allowing businesses and consumers to identify, locate and authenticate each and every item," said Steve Halliday, president of RAIN RFID Alliance. "The TexTrace woven RFID brand label is an exemplary application of RFID technology in the retail industry."

RAIN RFID is a wireless solution that uses a portal to read and write tagged items, manages the data and initiates action. Thousands of tags can be identified simultaneously, even without line of sight visibility. Associated software creates, collects and uses the data to identify, locate and authenticate items.
