Technicote Introduces New RFIDentity Family Of Pressure Sensitive RFID Material

OH-based PS label material solution provider Technicote has introduced its new RFIDentity family of pressure sensitive material specifically engineered for RFID "smart" labels.

The RFIDentity family of products will include transRFID, a special transfer adhesive for adhesive coating the RFID inlay in the converting process, RFIDfend, which incorporates special facestock designed to reduce mechanical trauma to the RFID inlay and the incidence of non-functioning RFID labels to the consumer and RFIDna, a facestock and adhesive combination designed for security and anti-counterfeiting of RFID labels and tags. TransRFID benefits the label converter by reducing air pockets and wrinkles in the release liner. RFIDfend helps converters overcome microchip-inlay failures associated with mechanical damage and electrostatic discharge, as well as issues related to printing on an uneven label facestock.

"RFID technology has come of age and we anticipate that its usage will explode driven by its value to end users across business and industry. Our RFIDentity family of solutions will play a critical role in advancing the cost-effectiveness of RFID technology to label converters and end-users. It supports the objective converters have of providing defect-free RFID labels to their customers. Technicote is also the first PS material provider to incorporate anti-counterfeiting and other security technology into a complete family of RFID material solutions for the label converter. We anticipate that as the use of RFID tags and labels become widespread, criminals will attempt to develop means to defeat it for their own purposes and our RFIDna anti-counterfeiting solutions provide a first-line defense." said Eric Buchroeder, Vice President of Marketing, Sales & Technical Services.
