SML will collaborate with RAIN Alliance to advance the use of UHF RFID technology in the global apparel branding and packaging market

New York, NY (PRWEB) - Leading apparel brand identification solution provider, SML Group, announced today that it had joined the RAIN RFID Alliance. The collaboration will bring additional strength to RAIN’s effort in evangelizing and fostering the advancement of technologies that connect billions of everyday items to the internet, enabling businesses and consumers to identify, locate and authenticate each item. The data from these items will help businesses run their operations more efficiently and provide better services to their customers. The SML Group, which has more than 5000 employees and operations in over 30 countries, delivers RAIN RFID solutions to apparel brands around the world. SML’s global footprint, combined with its deep experience in RFID-based item-level solutions, should provide a valuable and unique synergy with the RAIN Alliance thereby contributing to the mass adoption of RFID technology in retail supply chains.

“We are really excited to be part of the RAIN RFID Alliance and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship,” said Philip Calderbank, Vice President of Global RFID for the SML Group. “RAIN provides a collaborative forum and delivers a consistent message about the benefits of RFID technology and will promote awareness, education, programs, and initiatives to accelerate its growth and adoption.”

“The RAIN RFID Alliance currently has 70 companies which have become members since our founding in April 2014,” said Steve Halliday, President of RAIN RFID Alliance. “I am very pleased that SML has joined, and is dedicated to work with the Alliance to help the UHF RFID market grow.”
