SAVR Communications: Training The Next Generation Of RFID Talent At Devry University

Irving, TX – SAVR Communications and DeVry University are joining efforts to educate new RFID (radio frequency identification technology) talent. While many industry experts agree the total market for RFID will eclipse $10 billion by 2016, they recognize that training and education in the technology must also accelerate to keep pace. According to a recent study, 75 percent of business professionals think the skilled workforce required to design and deploy RFID technology strategies is currently inadequate, prompting 80 percent of these experts to believe RFID adoption rates will suffer.

Cristian Penciu, Dean of Electronics at DeVry University's Irving TX campus, is a major proponent of RFID education and training at the school. According to Penciu, students are encouraged to learn about the technology and several students have carried out RFID-based design projects. SAVR Communications is supporting the education process by conducting on-campus training sessions for students and faculty, as well as by donating time and materials to student projects involving RFID.
