RFind Joins Savi Technology's Patent Licensing Program For Active Radio Frequency Identification

RFind Systems Inc., an innovative provider of efficient, turn-key RFID and RTLS solutions, recently announced that they have entered into Savi Technology's ISO 18000-7 Licensing Program, enabling RFind to build a portfolio of standards-based products that leverage RFind's patented Tag to Tag technology. The announcement was made at the opening of RFID Live!, the world's largest conference for RFID and complementary automatic identification and data collection technologies.

The intellectual property (IP) in Savi Technology's licensing program defines tag-to-reader communications that have been incorporated into the ISO 18000-7 standard for active Radio Frequency Identification, which is deployed worldwide to wirelessly track and monitor the location and status of supply chain assets.

"We're delighted to license Savi Technology's patented IP because ISO 18000-7 is the de facto worldwide standard for all active RFID projects," says Sharon Barnes, CEO of RFind. "We are looking forward to the powerful combination of our unique Tag to Tag communications solution for low-cost location applications and DASH7 technology, which has ultra-low energy consumption and a globally available frequency."

"We are excited that RFind has chosen DASH7 technology as a new wireless data platform," said David Stephens, chief executive officer of Savi Technology, a Lockheed Martin subsidiary and leading provider of wireless-based supply chain solutions. "RFind's entry into this global market will help to grow innovation and adoption of new solutions that leverage a global wireless standard to improve how companies locate, sense and manage objects."

The ISO 18000-7 RFID protocol standard defines the air interface for active RFID devices operating in the 433 MHz band. Its purpose is to provide a common technical specification for RFID devices to allow for compatibility and to encourage interoperability of products for the growing RFID market in the international marketplace.

RFind is also a founding member of the DASH7 Alliance (www.dash7.org), which is a coalition of organizations from multiple industries that are committed to collaborating on the promotion and interoperability of wireless data technologies based on the ISO 18000-7 standard.

About RFind
RFind Systems' Tag to Tag Communication technology has changed the game of Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS). Eliminating costly reader infrastructures RFind's solution enables industrial manufacturers' needing flexible and affordable yard, fleet, logistics, and warehouse asset management, a better ROI. Deriving accurate location data from multiple sources, it provides point-to-point, x,y co-ordinates, or choke point locating. It was designed to work in industrial environments where there's metal, open spaces, bandwidth conflicts, security issues, and interfering radio frequency signals. It's not dependant on WLAN/WiFi networks and integrates with other middleware or database systems.

RFind Systems Inc. has its head office in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and reaches global markets in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
