RFIDSpan Technology, a leading developer of RFID Antennas Networking technology, recently announced the formal release of a new UHF RFID iReader-998.  Using revolutionized and innovative design that combines the power, control channel data and RF signal into a single RF cable, the iReader-998 is capable of networking hundreds of antennas and providing hundreds of read points.  Based on Impinj Indy R2000 Reader Chipset with improved reading sensitivity, the iReader-998 supports unparalleled read performance, which makes it the ideal choice for a wide range of applications, such as item-level location tracking applications, smart shelf and smart cabinet design.

The iReader-998 software supports industry standard EPC global Low-level Reader Protocol (LLRP) to interface the iReader-998 with the RFID enterprise applications.  The support for LLRP protocol is to standardize end-users applications development, and eliminating the use of proprietary communication protocols.
