RFIDSpan Technology Announces New LLRP RFID Reader

RFIDSpan Technology, a leading developer of RFID Antennas Networking technology, recently announced the formal release of a new UHF RFID iReader-998. Using revolutionized and innovative design that combines the power, control channel data and RF signal into a single RF cable, the iReader-998 is capable of networking hundreds of antennas and providing hundreds of read points. Based on Impinj Indy R2000 Reader Chipset with improved reading sensitivity, the iReader-998 supports unparalleled read performance, which makes it the ideal choice for a wide range of applications, such as item-level location tracking applications, smart shelf and smart cabinet design.
The iReader-998 software supports industry standard EPC global Low-level Reader Protocol (LLRP) to interface the iReader-998 with the RFID enterprise applications. The support for LLRP protocol is to standardize end-users applications development, and eliminating the use of proprietary communication protocols. More importantly, it will make the iReader-998easily to be easily integrated into a wide range of RFID enterprise infrastructures and business systems.
According to Albert Hong, the VP of RFIDSpan Technology, the iReader-998 has the capability of supporting hundreds of antennas which is a very crucial technology for applications that need many antenna read points. The technology can significantly simplify the large scale item-level tracking deployment, and more importantly, lower the total hardware cost. Until recently, building and deploying large scale RFID smart shelves or real-time item-level assets tracking system can be very costly as well as impractical due to the complexity and messy of the RF cabling. Now, by using RFIDSpan’s unique hardware and software technology, you can build large scale RFID smart shelf or item-level tracking system for library, warehouse, retailer quickly, practically at unbelievable low costs.
