RFID Tags: RSI ID Technologies Unveils Three New High Capacity Memory RFID Tags
Next Generation RFID Tags Designed for Supply Chain Operations are based on Gen 2 chip-technology from NXP Semiconductors
RSI ID Technologies (RSI), a RFID manufacturer and systems integrator, announced the release of three new RFID tags based on the RFID Gen 2 chip from NXP Semiconductors, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips. The three tag designs offer additional user memory, allowing companies to add a wide range of additional information to RFID tags above and beyond Electronic Product Code (EPC) numbers.
"The three RFID tag designs leverage the powerful new NXP Gen 2 chip to provide a new level of functionality for RFID applications," explained Wolf Bielas, CEO of RSI. "With 224 bits of user-defined memory, this innovation allows companies managing global supply chains to capture additional information and enables a range of new application efficiencies and intelligence."
For the new RFID tag designs, RSI used its rapid antenna design process, which allowed them to complete the antenna design and begin production within four weeks. By leveraging its proprietary development process, RSI is able to improve upon the industry's typical antenna design turnaround which can take months. RSI has been perfecting this rapid antenna design process over the last four years, and with continuous process improvement, has a goal to continue to contract their current antenna design turnaround time from four weeks to two.
Jan-Willem Reynaerts, general manager for RFID at NXP Semiconductors, adds, "We're pleased to work together with RSI to deliver next generation RFID tags, which enable suppliers and manufacturers throughout the supply chain to realize significant improvements in performance, cost and reliability. Through RSI, we were able to leverage the competitive performance features of our NXP Gen 2 chip within a novel application that offers additional benefits to customers."
RSI is currently taking orders for all three designs. For inquiries or to place an order, call 800-466-8247 or email info@rsiidtech.com.
