RFID Tags: Metalcraft Details RFID 'Flag Tag' For Asset Tracking
Metalcraft recently announced availability of their flag tag one of four standardized RFID product constructions aimed at speeding production and lowering cost for customers seeking durable RFID tags and labels for fixed and mobile assets.
Metalcraft's flag tag is an adhesive label with a non-adhesive, folding tab that offsets the inlay. The 4.5-inch square label has three scored sections, with the middle containing the RFID inlay; one end section adheres to and protects the inlay while the other section adheres to the asset being tracked. The result is an omni directionally readable tag fit for challenging applications.
"We've found the Metalcraft flag tag especially useful for blade servers and other metal-surfaced assets or liquid storage containers," said Metalcraft president Steve Doerfler. "It's a good alternative to other metal-mount options, and it really works where space is a premium."
Prices vary by construction and quantity; a complete price list is available at www.idplate.com.
The flag tag is the latest among Metalcraft's four standard RFID product constructions, including adhesive labels, hang tags and mount-on-metal labels. All are intended for use and re-use in demanding environments and offer read ranges up to 25 feet. Each product is customizable with variable data printed on the subsurface and programming of the RFID inlays. The standardized RFID products feature inlays from a variety of inlay manufacturers.
Still, Doerfler emphasized Metalcraft's continued development of custom RFID products.
"Metalcraft remains known as an RFID converter that adds a lot of value," said Doerfler. "We continue to be a resource for integrators and end users who have RFID challenges requiring custom solutions."
