RFID Industry Expert Pete Poorman Joins ABI Research

ABI Research announced the appointment of Pete Poorman as Principal Analyst, RFID. As part of the firm's RFID and Contactless research group, Poorman will focus his coverage particularly on software and services for the worldwide RFID industry and related vertical markets.

"Pete comes to ABI with solid RFID market experience and a significant network of industry contacts, having been on the commercial side of RFID and related technologies for years," says research director Michael Liard. Pete brings extensive real-world experience to the role. Before joining ABI Research, he was Director of Product Management for GlobeRanger Corporation, where he led the team that evaluated market conditions and set direction for the development of software for RFID and sensor-based solutions.

Prior to GlobeRanger, he worked in a variety of strategic planning and leadership roles at major firms in the computer industry, including Hewlett-Packard Company, Convex Computer Corporation, and Control Data Corporation.

Pete will initially apply his expertise to providing ABI Research clients with a fresh perspective on the market for RFID integration services, including managed services.
