RFID Healthcare: AeroScout Announces Global Healthcare Success With Multiple New Hospital Asset And Patient Tracking Installations
AeroScout, Inc., the leading provider of Unified Asset Visibility solutions, recently announces several of its new hospital installations, cementing its position as the largest provider of real-time location and visibility solutions to the healthcare market. Over the last quarter of 2007 alone, AeroScout was chosen for major projects with over 20 new hospital customers, and full-hospital installations that span thousands of tracked assets, patients and staff.
"We are seeing immediate and rapidly growing demand in the healthcare industry for asset visibility solutions," said Ben Gibson, Senior Director, Mobility Solutions at Cisco. "This is about mobilizing the hospital to improve operational efficiency and patient care, and AeroScout's momentum in the healthcare market is a clear indication that a unified solution approach to asset visibility is the right one."
Some of the newest healthcare providers to choose AeroScout include:
- North Colorado Medical Center (CO) – North Colorado Medical Center uses AeroScout's tags to track various assets such as syringe pumps, wheel chairs, scales, lifts and portable x-ray machines. The location and status information is used for asset management and equipment maintenance purposes.
- Three hospitals in the Providence Health and Services system (Centralia, Olympia, and Everett, WA) – Providence Health and Services, a 27 hospital, 46,000 employee system, has recently expanded its use of the AeroScout solution for Asset Management. The Centralia hospital installation was announced in November 2007, and based on the results of the first installation, AeroScout was chosen for the additional two facilities.
- Seoul National University Hospital (South Korea) - A large university medical center in Korea, SNUH is tracking patients through the diagnostic process to improve patient throughput and care.
AeroScout's Wi-Fi Healthcare Visibility Suite offers a comprehensive set of wireless solutions to track the location and status of assets and patients within healthcare facilities, and tools to make this data actionable. The suite includes solutions for:
- Asset Management;
- Equipment Maintenance;
- Temperature Monitoring;
- Workflow and Resource Management; and
- Patient & Staff Safety
These solutions all utilize a standard Wi-Fi infrastructure, AeroScout's market-leading Wi-Fi-based Active RFID tags, and wireless asset tracking software to improve patient care, increase staff efficiency, reduce costs and meet regulatory requirements. AeroScout is exclusively endorsed by the American Hospital Association (AHA).
"AeroScout solutions deliver actionable insight into daily healthcare operations, helping hospitals across the world improve their quality of patient care. By utilizing a facility's Wi-Fi infrastructure and keeping the impact on IT low, we have been able to offer the broadest range of visibility solutions at the lowest cost, " said Gabi Daniely, Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy at AeroScout. "As more hospitals implement our Healthcare Visibility Suite in 2008, they'll find AeroScout and its broad set of partners in healthcare to be trusted and experienced providers."
AeroScout is demonstrating its full set of solutions, including the newly announced wireless Temperature Monitoring, in booth # 2335 at the HIMSS 2008 Conference, February 24 through 28 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
