RF Code Announces Latest Versions Of Its Market Leading Asset Manager And Sensor Manager Software Solutions
Modbus and BACnet Integration Make it Easy to Bring Environmental Data into Building Management Systems, while Context Level Sensor Tracking Enables Granular Environmental Monitoring
RF Code, Inc. recently announced the latest versions of its Asset Manager and Sensor Manager software solutions. Both solutions leverage active RFID to provide real time information about physical IT assets (Asset Manager for real time asset tracking) and the conditions that affect them (Sensor Manager for environmental monitoring), without having to deploy expensive wiring or cabling to implement.
Major enhancements include:
- Modbus and BACnet Integration modules that make it easy for building management systems (BMS) to take advantage of the data supplied by RF Code. BMSs, which control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical infrastructure, typically leverage Modbus and/or BACnet for control and monitoring.
- Support for RF Code's new M250 Reader, which supports multiple applications, connected simultaneously. Thus, different groups - for example, facilities and data center personnel - can share the same RF Code reader infrastructure to read and transmit their group's asset tag or environmental sensor data, while still maintaining secure access to their own department's asset tracking or environmental monitoring.
- Multi-Tag associations that provides context-level information about sensor-captured data. This means, that multiple sensors can be placed can be placed on assets or in locations in a standardized manner such as multiple environmental sensors in an IT rack. This results in very context specific data such as the temperatures on the bottom, top and middle of a rack or environmental conditions of the cold aisles vs. the hot aisles. Granular context sensitive information helps companies make more intelligent cooling and heating decisions based on more intelligent information.
In addition, the company has extended current features to include:
- An enhanced alert viewer enabling specific types of alerts to be located faster and easier
- New alert actions for delivering data via industry standard protocols such as FTP and SCP
- A new schema that allows users to represent data more specifically for more granular reporting, thresholding and alerting
"As inventors of real time, wire-free solutions for asset tracking and environmental monitoring, we're always looking to transcend the boundaries of what our solutions can do for customers," said RF Code's Chris Gaskins, VP, Product Development. "Now, we're going beyond our traditional customers in distributed and data center IT to enable facilities and building managers to have the same real time tools they need to run more efficient, cost-effective organizations."
