Precision Dynamics' RFID Wristband System Implemented At Great Wolf Lodge To Provide Added Convenience And Service For Resort Guests
RFID System Features Cashless Payment and Hotel Room Keyless Entry
Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a leader in automatic wristband identification, announces the implementation of its patented Smart Band RFID (radio frequency identification) Wristbands and PDC Smart Kiosk RFID Cashless Point-of-Sale System at Great Wolf Lodge Poconos, Pennsylvania. The system will also be used at the new Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, slated to open in April 2006.
Great Wolf Lodge, a 401-suite family resort with an indoor waterpark entertainment area, implemented PDC's RFID Wristband System to provide resort guests with enhanced services including hotel room keyless entry, cashless payment options, automated access to lockers and arcade token dispensers, and more.
"At Great Wolf Lodge we strive to offer exceptional customer service and convenience to our guests," said Kim Schaefer, chief operating officer of Great Wolf Resorts. "Incorporating PDC's RFID wristband system was a great way for us to offer safety and convenience to further enhance the guest experience."
At registration, guests are given an RFID wristband, which is embedded with a Texas Instruments 13.56MHz RFID inlay, to use while at the resort. Guests no longer need to carry hotel room keys and be concerned with misplacing them; the automated wristbands allow for keyless entry into hotel rooms for all family members.
The RFID system also allows for cashless payment at various point-of-sale locations throughout the park. Money can get wet and/or lost while at a water park; but with RFID wristbands this is eliminated. Guests can simply add money to their wristbands by going to Smart Kiosks or any Great Wolf Lodge point-of-sale station located throughout the park. Parents can add money to their kids' wristbands for food, beverages and arcade. Money can be transferred onto the wristband using cash, credit, or linked to the hotel room account. All information on the wristband is encrypted providing the utmost in security for guests.
A popular feature for kids is accessing the arcade token machines. By simply holding the wristband in front of an arcade token dispenser, the token amount is automatically debited from the wristband. Kids don't have to find their parents to ask for coins or money to play arcade games.
