Omni-ID, the original inventor, patent holder and supplier of high-performance, on-metal passive UHF RFID tags, is pleased to announce that it has won the prestigious Best In Show Award at the RFID Journal LIVE! conference, the RFID industry's leading event.
The Best in Show award goes to the company that exhibits the best new RFID product or service at the event. Omni-ID was selected from a field of 10 finalists selected by a team of judges. The Company was selected based on its entry featuring its newest innovation – the ProVIEW™ visual tagging system, also making its formal debut this week at the event.
"Omni-ID's new visual tag system opens up new opportunities for using RFID to provide visual information and instructions to workers on the fly. The system, which is already in use in a variety of facilities, enables companies to leverage their existing infrastructure in new ways," said Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. "It's an exciting new development."
"We are thrilled to receive the Best in Show award this year based on our latest groundbreaking technology," said George E. Daddis, Jr.PhD, CEO of Omni-ID. "Omni-ID is known for its ongoing commitment to innovations and creating technologies that are game-changers for the industry – we're honored to be recognized for that leadership."
The ProVIEW visual tagging system includes a combination of display tags (4 sizes to choose from currently), gateway transceiver stations and system software that seamlessly integrates into multiple platforms or can work as a stand-alone application. Common UHF RFID readers also seamlessly integrate into the system and can be used to identify and trigger the display tags. The ProVIEW service and print driver is required to commission tag images. Tags are available with full graphic capability, segments or icons and with color flag zones. For more information, visit www.omni-id.com/products.
"Omni-ID has a proud tradition of technical leadership in the auto-ID market" said Ed Nabrotzky, CTO of Omni-ID. "As with other unique technologies we have developed, we look forward to working with our network of partners to propagate the technology and allow the market as a whole to benefit."
The company indicates that foundational patents filed on the system last year will be licensed for use by other interested partners as they are fully granted in the respective countries.
