IDENTEC SOLUTIONS i-CARD 3 Mobile Reader

The i-CARD 3 is IDENTEC SOLUTIONS' Intelligent Long Range® (ILR®) RFID reader in a PC Card format. The Type II PC Card is integrated in third-party handheld, portable or laptop computers to read and write to i-Q and i-D tags. The flexibility of an RFID reader on a PC Card allows easy integration of ILR into enterprise systems and permits combination with other technologies such as bar code and wireless LAN.

Handheld equipment with an i-CARD 3 and integrated antenna can communicate to tags at a distance of up to 300 feet (100 meters). The i-CARD 3 communicates with the active read/write RFID tags with up to 32 KB of memory.

The signal propagation characteristics of the UHF radio band used by ILR RFID technology provide long-range communication and high-speed transmission rates for reliable data exchange. The i-CARD 3 is available as 915 MHz or 868 MHz to communicate with 915 MHz, 868 MHz or dual frequency tags.

Software to control the i-CARD 3 runs on standard operating systems, including Windows CE/Win9x/NT/2000/XP, and Linux. The computer power of a handheld allows RFID data processing at point of collection or provides data communication to other computer systems in real-time.
