GlobeRanger Announces Gen 2 Ready iMotion Platform

This new release gives companies the ability to easily leverage features and functionality of Gen 2 readers and tags while providing comprehensive edge process, infrastructure and data management for enterprise-wide, multi-site, global deployments.

With Gen 2 products presenting more powerful and complex capabilities, the need for an intelligent edge layer to orchestrate smart reader/device networks for business processes is greater than ever. iMotion has always provided unprecedented flexibility for managing edge device networks and now platform users can realize the full potential of iMotion edge process management capabilities in building workflows that incorporate Gen 2 features dynamically at any point in the business process.

The new iMotion release includes:

• Gen 2 ready capabilities — supports Gen 2 features such as the select command and access to extended data as well as the management of tag functionality such as memory locking, sessions management, password handling and tag killing. Device management functionality has been extended for Gen 2 readers.
• Data management through Application Level Events (ALE) — provides the capability to effortlessly define data input requirements from the device network through ALE, the Filtering and Collection specification established by EPCglobal. This functionality gives solution developers the ability to easily access desired data.
• Standards compliance — supports EPC and Department of Defense (DoD) specific encoding formats including EPCglobal Tag Data Standards 1.24 and 1.27.
• Emulation for Gen 2 readers and tags — empowers solution developers to emulate deployment scenarios with complete Gen 2 features for application testing and data integration.

GlobeRanger will be demonstrating the latest iMotion functionality in booth #301 at the EPCglobal Conference, September 13-15 in Atlanta, GA. In addition, Beaver Street Fisheries and GlobeRanger will be co-presenting a case study on RFID compliance and implementation for the "Get Started" track.
