Evolution Of An RFID Revolution Forum At Merrimack College

Worldwide inventors and leaders in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), bar coding, and other automatic ID technologies will gather at Merrimack College (North Andover, MA) for an annual forum organized by AIDC 100 (Automatic Identification and Data Capture — see below).

The daylong event will feature renowned speakers as they share actual business problems, solutions, and application examples such as automatic ID technology usage with the war in Iraq, national security issues, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, transportation, and more. Symposium attendees will also tour Merrimack's state-of-the-art RFID/automatic ID technology lab — one of the few colleges in the country with such equipment for study.

Tagsys RFID (Cambridge, MA), Shipcom Wireless (Houston, TX), Radiance (Lawrence, MA), Reva Systems (Chelmsford, MA), Identec Solutions (Austria), Symbol/Motorola (Rockland, MD), Department of Defense (Washington, D.C).

Discussion Panels:

RFID research analysts will speak on the state of automatic technology and forecast where the industry may be headed. Panelists include: ABI (Great Neck, NY), VDC (Framingham, MA), Baird (Boston, MA).

Discussion will focus on RFID programs in higher education, as well as student and graduate success in the field. Panelists include: Merrimack College (North Andover, MA), the University of Texas (Austin), and the University of Arkansas.

Also, during the symposium, spouses and significant others who are not participating in the symposium are invited to travel up the coast to Maine by bus for foliage viewing, historical and recreational spots, and lunch. Transportation will be provided.
