Bibliotheca Announce Exciting New Self-Service Line-Up

Bibliotheca, the world's leading supplier of RFID technology solutions to public and academic libraries, has announced the launch of an exciting new range of self-service products that will further expand the company's product portfolio and offer customers state-of-the-art self-service library facilities.

Completing the company's new range of self-service kiosk solutions, which includes its existing smartserve 100 component-based system, the smartserve 200 desktop solution and smartserve 400 kiosk, is the new smartserve 1000 kiosk collection.

The new smartserve 1000 kiosk range has been designed to compliment the company's kiosk suite, suiting almost every new library need in allowing customers to create a self-service kiosks to their exact specifications with a range of add-on extras. The new range, which is available in freestanding, desktop and height-adjustable versions, offers a modern intuitive design, 22" portrait screen for optimal viewing and a novel light-based indicator system to navigate patrons through the entire transaction process and to alert staff of any kiosk requirements, such as the need for replacement receipt paper.

The new range has been created based on extensive research and feedback obtained from public and academic libraries around the globe. Combining the requirements of these libraries and building on many of the features seen on the company's existing self-service kiosks, the new range offers full payment options, including coin & note, credit & debit card and NFC (near field communication) and can incorporate integrated return bins for easier patron returns. Furthermore, customers also have the option of including an integrated media unlocker on their kiosk allowing patrons to unlock secured items at the point of check out and a choice of two table options - further enhancing library operations.

In addition to the new kiosk range, Bibliotheca is also pleased to announce the launch of a new RFID return shelf that offers library users a faster and more convenient way of returning library items. The smartblade 210 intelligent return shelving system has been designed to compliment libraries' existing self-service offering and, although suitable for all libraries, is ideal for those with limited budgets and confined spaces. Working alongside the company's smartserve 410 interactive kiosk, the smartblade 210 system offers patrons a 'return and go' experience - whereby they simply place their returned items on one of the shelves as the system does the rest!

Together with these new products the company has also made significant modifications to its smartdispenser 200 unit, not only giving it an updated look and feel but more importantly increasing its capacity to hold media items from 2,000 to 4,000.
