This document will simplify the process required to comply with the DoD mandate and provide a common-sense approach to RFID compliance. It provides 12 basic steps to help you develop a robust and cost–effective solution with minimal headache and stress.

The DoD requires compliance to the mandate at the time when a contract is renewed or recompeted. If you have an existing contract with the DoD that you expect to be up for renewal in the near future, you should expect to have an RFID requirement added to that contract. The only way to know for sure if you must comply is to read your contract RFQ and to discuss with your DoD Contract Manager.
