Enterprise Information Systems also includes in the planning a ROI forecast - which looks ahead at how companies can attain a positive ROI by implementing RFID within business processes that revolve around compliance and other processes throughout the enterprise.

Compliance 1st is a carefully implemented methodology that focuses on complying with RFID policy requirements for DoD suppliers. But Compliance 1st also provides a look ahead at possible opportunities for benefit from RFID technology in your enterprise.

The DOD mandate requires that its 60,000 suppliers use passive RFID tags for shipments by 2007. Starting Jan. 1, 2006, suppliers were required to tag cases and pallets of subsistence and comfort items, packaged petroleum, lubricants, oils, preservatives and chemicals, construction and barrier material, ammunition of all types, and pharmaceutical and medical material shipped to 32 depots throughout the United States and two Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) distribution centers.
