SML's Clarity™ RFID Launches Support For iOS, Android And Windows 10 Mobile Devices In Multiple Languages

Enterprise-class retail RFID platform Clarity expands to support multiple operating systems and languages to further simplify using RFID for retailers and brand owners

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) - In-line with the rise of consumer device use in retailer operations, RFID leader SML today launches enhancements to its industry leading Clarity™ RFID application platform to support iOS, Android and Windows 10- powered mobile devices that are coupled to RFID sleds from Zebra.

“The consumer device market is gaining greater market share among retailers and Clarity is evolving to support the latest devices that retailers want to use as they migrate to RFID,” says Dean Frew, CTO and SVP, RFID Solutions. “Clarity is already demonstrated itself to be the most scalable and feature rich RFID application platform for retail with over 1000 stores using every day processing over 5 billion transactions in 2016, this next iteration of Clarity maintains our march toward more flexible, higher performance and cost effective RFID deployments for retailers and brand owners.”

Out With The Old
According to Consumer Goods Technology CGT 2015 survey, 68 percent of retailers are using an external mobile application. Increasing numbers of retailers are moving on from old Windows Mobile devices for in-store inventory management to iOS, Android and Windows10 devices for automated data and associated user interface platforms. The emergence of Bluetooth-enabled RFID sleds is a positive trend that gives customers maximum flexibility to add RFID capability while preserving their investment in mobile devices that is essential to achieving this goal.

While Windows Mobile may be fading in the enterprise, Microsoft is fueling the way forward with SML RFID. Xamarin, Microsoft’s mobile device software development product, serves as SML RFID’s development platform of choice for this next iteration of Clarity. It supplies speed to market advantages and the ability to develop an application one time and then port the application to various operating system platforms easily and quickly.

This latest version of Clarity has been ported over to iOS and Android devices working with Zebra’s new RFD8500 RFID hand heldsled reader. SML is engaged with multiple customers using the RFD8500 sled and through extensive testing have rated the device best in class. The emergence of Bluetooth-enabled RFID sleds are a positive trend that gives customers maximum flexibility to add RFID capability while preserving their investment in mobile devices.

In addition to the multi-platform developments, this latest version of Clarity is now multilingual. SML RFID currently supports numerous languages including: English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, German and Dutch on in-store terminals. All of these developments support the growing global demand for the ROI Clarity delivers to retailers.
