Smartphones Can Now Open Parking Gates

Brazilian automation equipment manufacturer integrates NearBytes technology to their product and enables parking access via smartphones. Through disposable single keys or OTPs (One Time Passwords) the smartphone transmits a sound modulation which is decoded by the equipment and triggers the gate for access.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (PRWEB) - Embratecc, a Brazilian automation equipment manufacturer is launching a new product for parking access control. The new device features an impressive innovation that enables access via smartphones.

The equipment uses the communication and security solution developed by NearBytes, allowing any smartphone on the market to become an access key for automation equipment. Through disposable single keys or OTPs (One Time Passwords) the smartphone transmits a sound modulation which is decoded by the device and triggers the gate for access.

The equipment was on display at the Expo Parking 2014 event, http://expo-parking.com.br/, in SP-Brazil (28th to 30th October). Visitors could check closely how it operated. Besides the innovative solution for smartphones using sound, equipment allows printing and reading tickets with bar codes and RFID tags reader with LCD seven-inch player. Triggering of the barrier with the use of technology NearBytes was the highlight of the event.

NearBytes is also being used for access and automation systems, such as activation of electronic locks and opening doors. From an "keychain" app, a Raspberry Pi based hardware captures the access OTPs and can trigger any electric lock. And better yet, by any mobile device available on the market (Android, iOS, Windows Phone).

NearBytes operates in the segment of proximity communication between devices, with a large focus on m-Commerce market. Proximity applications already represent a considerable part of this market. The company, named after the technology, provides solutions for proximity mobile payments apps, loyalty, vouchers, mobile POS, in-store advertising, marketing, automation and residential/business access systems.
