Impinj Partners With The Coca-Cola Company On Revolutionary Beverage Dispenser

Leading UHF Gen 2 radio frequency identification (RFID) technology provider Impinj, Inc. today announced a partnership with The Coca-Cola Company to provide critical RFID technology supporting its new Coca-Cola Freestyle™ beverage dispensing system. More than four years in planning, the revolutionary dispensing platform's design utilizes both Impinj Monza™ tag chips and Indy™ reader chips, which together provide the core RFID capability of the system. The Coca-Cola Freestyle™ system uses RFID to monitor, track and maintain dispenser operations as well as to provide real-time business analytics about product consumption and preferences.

"The Coca-Cola Freestyle™ platform is a brilliant example of a successful integration of RFID technology into a high visibility consumer application. We are pleased to be a key partner with The Coca-Cola Company in its development," said William T. Colleran, Ph.D., president and CEO of Impinj. "We believe the dispenser provides value to the consumer by offering a wider range of beverage choices, and value to Coca-Cola by significantly improving operational efficiency and imparting useful consumer research."

Testing of Coca-Cola Freestyle™ dispensing system has already begun in selected US markets.
