ID TECH Expands Product Offering With New Digital Display

The digital signage newcomer is introducing its first product for this industry — a 21.5-inch outdoor display.

ID TECH, a manufacturer of automated data entry, mobile payment, point-of-sale and secure payment devices, announced the expansion of its product offering to digital signage.

For more than 20 years, ID TECH has been a hardware manufacturer of POS peripherals, MagStripe readers, mobile payment readers, smart card readers, barcode scanners, POS keyboards, OEM components, signature capture pads and PIN pads.

According to ID TECH, the company is expanding its expertise into digital signage by introducing its first product for this industry — a 21.5-inch outdoor display with a 1920×1080 resolution. The unit’s infrared touchscreen allows for operation by virtually any type of physical touch, including that of a finger, stylus or even a gloved hand. With an array of different connectivity options such as WiFi, LAN, USB, RS232 and Bluetooth, the ID TECH digital display is designed for a variety of applications and environments, the company said. It is also equipped with a built-in webcam for customer interaction and detection.

The ID TECH digital display is built to withstand harsh outdoor environments, the company said. It has been designed to operate under direct sunlight in temperatures as high as 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and its built-in heater allows functionality in temperatures as low as -40 degrees. For extended protection against harsh weather, the exposed front bezel has an IP 65 rating to seal out dust and water. The digital display has an anti-reflective coating that reduces glare and a protective film which defends against infrared and UV rays. The ID TECH digital display’s automatic brightness control helps keep the screen visible in bright sunlight, as well as conserves energy at night, according to the company.
