Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, the 7th busiest airport in the country, is deploying RFID to improve passenger safety, baggage/inventory visibility, and customer service and satisfaction. RFID tags that are printed and attached at ticket counters, carry a unique identifier that is read by RFID readers while the bag is transported to conveyor belts, screening machines and onto planes. The new system provides McCarran with nearly 100 percent accurate baggage tracking as well as end-to-end asset visibility.
