RFID Reader: Advanced ID Introduces The Industry's Most Advanced And Affordable UHF RFID Reader; Receives First Major Order

Advanced ID Corporation, a leading developer of radio frequency identification ("RFID") technology for livestock tracking, pet recovery and supply chain applications focusing on the tire management industry, recently announced that it has received the first major order for its recently introduced Ultra High Frequency 500 Series RFID reader. The quantity production order for 66 units was received from a European customer and is expected to be manufactured and delivered by the end of 2007. The introduction of the Ultra High Frequency 500 Series RFID reader establishes Advanced ID as the industry's low cost provider for a fully functioning device capable of reading and communicating with applicable RFID tags made by any manufacturer in the world.

The 500 Series reader is a robust, long read range, multi-protocol UHF RFID device intended for outdoor and indoor use. It employs Advanced ID's state of the art technology combined with high performance, reliability and ease of use. The 500 Series complies with both ETSI (Europe) and FCC (USA) registrations and supports multiple tag protocols, including ISO18000-6B and EPC class 1, Gen 2, and is upgradeable for future protocols. The unit reads tags, reads and writes user data, and has the ability to program EPC class 1, Gen 2 numbers into tags.

During the course of the last year, Advanced ID has invested into the development of the 500 Series reader in response to customer demand for UHF RFID readers under $1000. According to RFID industry research, readers are manufactured by a myriad of technology companies from around the world but there are no readers available in the market today that have both the functionality of the 500 Series and an affordable price point enabling mass production for retail and supply chain adoption.

"The launch of our 500 Series reader is the culmination of technological leadership and manufacturing expertise from Advanced ID teams in Asia and North America," commented Dan Finch, Chief Executive Officer of Advanced ID. "We have only recently begun to market the product, with field demonstrations to prospective customers resulting in overwhelmingly positive feedback, including references that we have "hit a home run." Initial customer use encompasses diverse applications that only our 500 Series reader can support at a cost that is acceptable in the market. In short, we now offer a ubiquitous solution to enable more rapid RFID adoption and all of its intended efficiencies."

"We have placed the 500 Series reader into settings involving supply chain labels, tire tags and long read range warehouse bars. The performance of our reader has been uniformly successful," continued Mr. Finch. "Our customers view the 500 Series reader as having unlimited applications for a reader that is full featured and includes Bluetooth connectivity that makes it optimal for data processing in the field on portable computers and PDAs."

According to Mr. Finch, the 500 Series reader is priced well below any competitive unit and Advanced ID customers are declaring their intent to purchase single or multiple quantities. Two recent examples of burgeoning interest include a major tire manufacturer in Europe using the reader for initial testing purposes with the potential for a quantity production order, and a pharmaceutical distributor that is working with the reader as part of the ePedigree program in the United States. The Company is now aggressively marketing and demonstrating the 500 Series reader product line to customers throughout the world. Advanced ID also is working with RFID label converters in several countries to offer a combined, complete solution for supply chain applications.
