SAVR Announces Track And Trace Tag With Aircraft Detection Capability
SAVR Communications, Inc. a technology innovator for the transportation and logistics industry has successfully developed the first autonomous track and trace "package level" device for world-wide shippers of high-value or temperature sensitive goods. The SAVR SENTRY is a unique family of in-transit devices that provide a cost-effective, intelligent, and adaptable solution for remote tracking and monitoring, including the capability to comply with the FAA's regulations (FAR 91.21 and AC No: 91-21.1B) for the use of Portable Electronic Devices (PED's) on aircraft.
The patent pending FlightSafe tags embodies an imbedded triple redundant aircraft sensor system that identifies operational aircraft in the vicinity of the unit. When any two of the three aircraft sensing devices are triggered, the tag acknowledges the presence of an operational aircraft and disables its various transmission capabilities. This prohibits any transmissions from the FlightSafe unit automatically, without any human intervention. When FlightSafe starts the process of disabling its transmission capabilities, it sends a notification message including date, time, location and action to the tag owner.
During a flight the unit continuously monitors the sensing devices to ensure that the transmitter is not reactivated while still onboard the aircraft. When the tag no longer senses the combination of signals that initiated transmission shut-off, it turns the transmission capabilities back on, and transmits its date, time, location and wake-up notification to the tag owner. The FlightSafe unit then resumes it's real-time on-demand tracking capabilities.
The FAA and RTCA (U.S. Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics) focus their PED requirements to insure devices are not able to transmit during take-off and landing. SAVR's FlightSafe SENTRY meets those requirements through its triple redundant sensors and operational software.
SAVR's SENTRY product incorporates real-time on-demand capability with advanced sensor technology that allows the asset owners to know where their shipment/equipment/resources are (as well as their condition) at any time. This scaleable modular platform gives the users a solution that uniquely fits their needs and requirements without compromise.
The SENTRY platform includes support for numerous communication capabilities such as Wi- Fi, RFID, Cellular (GSM/GPRS), and LEO (Low Earth Orbit) Satellites. The rechargeable device also supports numerous sensor and data acquisition options such as temperature, fluid levels, shock, light, humidity, radiation, audible alarms, multiple frequency exciters, high -Moresensitivity GPS and Differential GPS in order to fully monitor packages as they are in transit. In addition, theft and tamper detection circuitry can be integrated to alert users of tampering that may occur in transit. This functionality is particularly valuable for high value shipments from premium shippers, pharmaceutical suppliers, third party logistics service providers, electronics manufactures, military, aerospace, banking and medical labs.
The software and web based GUI (with dynamic security features) are in place and completely customizable for each application. In addition, all of this information is capable of being adapted to work with all primary operating systems or network configurations.
The SENTRY is designed to provide a higher level of shipment visibility than is currently offered by large companies within the transportation and logistics industry.
