RFID iReader-980 To Revolutionize Item-Level Tracking And SmartShelf Design
January 5, 2010
Recently, RFIDspan Technology, a leading developer of RFID Antenna Networking and Distributing Technology, announced the launching of iReader-980. The iReader-980, which is targeted for RFID Smartshelf design and real-time assets item-level tracking applications that need a large number of antenna read points, is the industry's first UHF EPC Class 1 Gen2 Smart RFID reader that can access hundreds of antenna read points (up to 256 antennas).
With the integration with iSwitch-300 which uses innovative and break through technology that combines the Power, Control Channel and RF signal into single RF cable, the iReader-980 will revolutionize the smart shelf and item-level tracking applications by significantly lowering the hardware cost and the complexity of the system deployment.
According to Albert Hong, the VP of RFIDSpan Technology, the introduction of iReader-980 will make one big-step forward for RFID smart shelf design and real-time assets tracking using passive RFID technology. For example, for real-time assets tacking in hospitals, IT departments and warehouses, you can use just one iReader-980 and some antennas to cover a significant big size of area to monitor the assets' locations and thus eliminate the use of costly active RFID technology.
The iReader-980 supports 10/100BaseT Ethernet TCP/IP network. For one unit, the iReader-980 is priced at $1099.00. Significant volume discount is available. For more information, visit www.rfidspan.com.
