Investment Forum At World's Largest Conference On Printed Electronics

Printed Electronics is set to grow extremely rapidly in the coming years. Predicted to reach about $300B in the next twenty years, printed electronics is the future of most lighting, electronics and power generation. Printed electronics can be anywhere from ten to one hundred times lower in cost than alternatives and sometimes outperforms the alternatives as well. Most of the world's largest chemical and electronic companies are investing heavily in the field, together with some printing companies and a plethora of start-ups. Consequently, two types of photovoltaic film are already being printed reel to reel and the world's first e-tickets will be on the market early next year with thousands of transistors printed reel to reel at a cost that the silicon chip can never reach.

The world's largest conference on printed electronics, the IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA Conference and Exhibition, will be staged in San Jose, California, from December 2-5, and its Investment Forum will be larger than ever before. This half day summit brings together leading pure-play printed electronics companies that are gaining traction and substantial revenues today, as well as hidden gems with enormous potential. Attendees will also have access to industry thought-leaders, valuable quantitative and qualitative research, and one-on-one meetings with Printed Electronics CEOs. With a sales forecast of over $5B for printed electronics in 2010 (source: IDTechEx), VCs are eager to invest in printed electronics. Suitable funding is required to drive development of printed electronics into viable commercial solutions. With massive opportunities there will be many successes.

IDTechEx is holding this half day summit dedicated to bringing together venture capitalists and investors with companies seeking investment. This optional event precedes the two day conference. Analysts from IDTechEx will introduce the latest progress in this sector, such as fundraising so far, undersupplied sectors and company profiles. A panel of VCs will then cover their thoughts on the sector and the company profiles they seek for investing. This will be followed by 15 company CEOs who seek investment giving 10 minute overviews of their proposition and technology. There will be one to one meetings afterwards.

We see this market growing to a multibillion dollar opportunity within 5 years - namely due to the creation of new markets and the ability to go where conventional electronics cannot.

Companies involved in or looking to be involved in any part of the printed and thin film electronics value chain and seeking funding should attend this event. For those failing to find a match or unable to attend, IDTechEx provides a service in locating suitable investors, assisting with presentations and setting up meetings. IDTechEx has extensive contacts in the global investment community and frequently carries out such work on an international basis.
